(451) 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight.

(452) "That We might try them by that (means). But if any turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to undergo a severe Penalty.

(453) Stand (to prayer) by night, but not all night,-

(454) Truly the rising by night is most potent for governing (the soul), and most suitable for (framing) the Word (of Prayer and Praise).

Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind.

(459) Nay, verily: by the Moon,

(460) And by the Night as it retreateth,
