(42) And when Musa said to his servant: I will not cease until I reach the junction of the two rivers or I will go on for years.

(43) When he said to his father; O my father! why do you worship what neither hears nor sees, nor does it avail you in the least:

(44) Nay, it is a reminder to him who fears:

(45) When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa.

(46) And the faces shall be humbled before the Living, the Self-subsistent Allah, and he who bears iniquity is indeed a failure.

(47) Have they not travelled in the land so that they should have hearts with which to understand, or ears with which to hear? For surely it is not the eyes that are blind, but blind are the hearts which are in the breasts.

(48) And they ask you to hasten on the punishment, and Allah will by no means fail in His promise, and surely a day with your Lord is as a thousand years of what you number.

(49) And He it is Who made for you the ears and the eyes and the hearts; little is it that you give thanks.

(50) He will say: How many years did you tarry in the earth?
