(252) Neither are the living and the dead alike. Surely Allah makes whom He pleases hear, and you cannot make those hear who are in the graves.

(253) Then We gave the Book for an inheritance to those whom We chose from among Our servants; but of them is he who makes his soul to suffer a loss, and of them is he who takes a middle course, and of them is he who is foremost in deeds of goodness by Allah's permission; this is the great excellence.

(254) And when it is said to them: Spend out of what Allah has given you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, if Allah please, He could feed? You are in naught but clear error.

(255) And whomsoever We cause to live long, We reduce (him) to an abject state in constitution; do they not then understand?

(256) Then ask them whether they are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have created. Surely We created them of firm clay.

(257) When they entered in upon Dawood and he was frightened at them, they said: Fear not; two litigants, of whom one has acted wrongfully towards the other, therefore decide between us with justice, and do not act unjustly, and guide us to the right way.

(258) And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious?

(259) He said: O Iblis! what prevented you that you should do obeisance to him whom I created with My two hands? Are you proud or are you of the exalted ones?

(260) Say: Allah (it is whom) I serve, being sincere to Him in my obedience:
