(51) The Unbelievers say: "We shall neither believe in this scripture nor in (any) that (came) before it." Couldst thou but see when the wrong-doers will be made to stand before their Lord, throwing back the word (of blame) on one another! Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones: "Had it not been for you, we should certainly have been believers!"

(52) Say: "The Truth has arrived, and Falsehood neither creates anything new, nor restores anything."

(53) For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship-

(54) Also, they say: "Why is not this Qur'an sent down to some leading man in either of the two (chief) cities?"

(55) And neither heaven nor earth shed a tear over them: nor were they given a respite (again).

(56) Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost.

(57) If the Unbelievers should fight you, they would certainly turn their backs; then would they find neither protector nor helper.

(58) Your Companion is neither astray nor being misled.

(59) Turnest thou not thy attention to those who turn (in friendship) to such as have the Wrath of Allah upon them? They are neither of you nor of them, and they swear to falsehood knowingly.

(60) What Allah has bestowed on His Messenger (and taken away) from them - for this ye made no expedition with either cavalry or camelry: but Allah gives power to His messengers over any He pleases: and Allah has power over all things.
