(43) They said, "Who has done this to our gods? He must indeed be some man of impiety!"

(44) They said, "Art thou the one that did this with our gods, O Abraham?"

(45) They said, "Burn him and protect your gods, If ye do (anything at all)!"

(46) Verily ye, (unbelievers), and the (false) gods that ye worship besides Allah, are (but) fuel for Hell! to it will ye (surely) come!

(47) If these had been gods, they would not have got there! but each one will abide therein.

(48) No son did Allah beget, nor is there any god along with Him: (if there were many gods), behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have lorded it over others! Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the (sort of) things they attribute to Him!

(49) Yet have they taken, besides him, gods that can create nothing but are themselves created; that have no control of hurt or good to themselves; nor can they control death nor life nor resurrection.

(50) "He indeed would well-nigh have misled us from our gods, had it not been that we were constant to them!" - Soon will they know, when they see the Penalty, who it is that is most misled in Path!
