(53) And let nothing keep thee back from the Signs of Allah after they have been revealed to thee: and invite (men) to thy Lord, and be not of the company of those who join gods with Allah.

(54) Turn ye back in repentance to Him, and fear Him: establish regular prayers, and be not ye among those who join gods with Allah,-

(55) Say: "Call upon other (gods) whom ye fancy, besides Allah: They have no power,- not the weight of an atom,- in the heavens or on earth: No (sort of) share have they therein, nor is any of them a helper to Allah.

(56) "Shall I take (other) gods besides Him? If (Allah) Most Gracious should intend some adversity for me, of no use whatever will be their intercession for me, nor can they deliver me.

(57) Yet they take (for worship) gods other than Allah, (hoping) that they might be helped!

(58) And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?"

(59) "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire?

(60) Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?...
