(91) Say: Have you considered your associates which you call upon besides Allah? Nay, the unjust do not hold out promises one to another but only to deceive.

(92) Surely Allah upholds the heavens and the earth lest they come to naught; and if they should come to naught, there Is none who can uphold them after Him; surely He is the Forbearing, the Forgiving.

(93) And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch.

(94) They shall say: O woe to us! who has raised us up from our sleeping-place? This is what the Beneficent Allah promised and the apostles told the truth.

(95) Except an old woman (who was) amongst those who tarried.

(96) This is Our free gift, therefore give freely or withhold, without reckoning.

(97) This (shall be so); so let them taste it, boiling and intensely cold (drink).

(98) And should you ask them, Who created the heavens and the earth? They would most certainly say: Allah. Say: Have you then considered that what you call upon besides Allah, would they, if Allah desire to afflict me with harm, be the removers of His harm, or (would they), if Allah desire to show me mercy, be the withholders of His mercy? Say: Allah is sufficient for me; on Him do the reliant rely.

(99) Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that die not during their sleep; then He withholds those on whom He has passed the decree of death and sends the others back till an appointed term; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect.

(100) He it is Who created you from dust, then from a small lifegerm, then from a clot, then He brings you forth as a child, then that you may attain your maturity, then that you may be old-- and of you there are some who are caused to die before-- and that you may reach an appointed term, and that you may understand.
