(121) We certainly gave Moses the Book aforetime: but disputes arose therein. Had it not been for a Word that went forth before from thy Lord, (their differences) would have been settled between them: but they remained in suspicious disquieting doubt thereon.

(122) The (deities) they used to invoke aforetime will leave them in the lurch, and they will perceive that they have no way of escape.

(123) That sends down (from time to time) rain from the sky in due measure;- and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead; even so will ye be raised (from the dead);-

(124) We did send Moses aforetime, with Our Signs, to Pharaoh and his Chiefs: He said, "I am a messenger of the Lord of the Worlds."

(125) We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment,

(126) And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly,

(127) Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,-

(128) We did aforetime grant to the Children of Israel the Book the Power of Command, and Prophethood; We gave them, for Sustenance, things good and pure; and We favoured them above the nations.

(129) And they say: "What is there but our life in this world? We shall die and we live, and nothing but time can destroy us." But of that they have no knowledge: they merely conjecture:

(130) We destroyed aforetime populations round about you; and We have shown the Signs in various ways, that they may turn (to Us).
