(262) And they say: Why was not this Quran revealed to a man of importance in the two towns?

(263) And We did not show them a sign but it was greater than its like, and We overtook them with chastisement that they may turn.

(264) He was naught but a servant on whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the children of Israel.

(265) Thus (it was), and We gave them as a heritage to another people.

(266) From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant.

(267) And We gave them of the communications wherein was clear blessing.

(268) And when it was said, Surely the promise of Allah is true and as for the hour, there is no doubt about it, you said: We do not know what the hour is; we do not think (that it will come to pass) save a passing thought, and we are not at all sure.

(269) And before it the Book of Musa was a guide and a mercy: and this is a Book verifying (it) in the Arabic language that it may warn those who are unjust and as good news for the doers of good.

(270) And We have enjoined on man doing of good to his parents; with trouble did his mother bear him and with trouble did she bring him forth; and the bearing of him and the weaning of him was thirty months; until when he attains his maturity and reaches forty years, he says: My Lord! grant me that I may give thanks for Thy favor which Thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do good which pleases Thee and do good to me in respect of my offspring; surely I turn to Thee, and surely I am of those who submit.
