(53) There is no god but He; He gives life and causes death, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore.

(54) So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful.

(55) And when Our clear communications are recited to them, their argument is no other than that they say: Bring our fathers (back) if you are truthful.

(56) They are naught but names which you have named, you and your fathers; Allah has not sent for them any authority. They follow naught but conjecture and the low desires which (their) souls incline to; and certainly the guidance has come to them from their Lord.

(57) Or our fathers of yore?

(58) You shall not find a people who believe in Allah and the latter day befriending those who act in opposition to Allah and His Apostle, even though they were their (own) fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kinsfolk; these are they into whose hearts He has impressed faith, and whom He has strengthened with an inspiration from Him: and He will cause them to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein; Allah is well-pleased with them and they are well-pleased with Him these are Allah's party: now surely the party of Allah are the successful ones.
