(271) Therefore be careful of (your duty to) Allah as much as you can, and hear and obey and spend, it is better for your souls; and whoever is saved from the greediness of his soul, these it is that are the successful.

(272) If you both turn to Allah, then indeed your hearts are already inclined (to this); and if you back up each other against him, then surely Allah it is Who is his Guardian, and Jibreel and -the believers that do good, and the angels after that are the aiders.

(273) When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves,

(274) And conceal your word or manifest it; surely He is Cognizant of what is in the hearts.

(275) Say: He it is Who brought you into being and made for you the ears and the eyes and the hearts: little is it that you give thanks.

(276) And those who disbelieve would almost smite you with their eyes when they hear the reminder, and they say: Most surely he is mad.

(277) Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran,

(278) And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him:

(279) And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace):

(280) And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals.
