(32) And remember (Hud) the brother of 'Ad, when he warned his people in Al-Ahqaf (the curved sand-hills in the southern part of Arabian Peninsula). And surely, there have passed away warners before him and after him (saying): "Worship none but Allah; truly, I fear for you the torment of a mighty Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)."

(33) That has been the Way of Allah already with those who passed away before. And you will not find any change in the Way of Allah.

(34) And those of your women as have passed the age of monthly courses, for them the 'Iddah (prescribed period), if you have doubt (about their periods), is three months; and for those who have no courses [(i.e. they are still immature) their 'Iddah (prescribed period) is three months likewise, except in case of death] . And for those who are pregnant (whether they are divorced or their husbands are dead), their 'Iddah (prescribed period) is until they lay down their burden; and whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make his matter easy for him.

(35) Then there passed by on the (garden) a visitation (fire) from your Lord at night and burnt it while they were asleep.

(36) And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and cups of crystal -

(37) And, whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery).
