(11) And when We bestow favor on man, he turns aside and behaves proudly, and when evil afflicts him, he is despairing.

(12) These are they on whom Allah bestowed favors, from among the prophets of the seed of Adam, and of those whom We carried with Nuh, and of the seed of Ibrahim and Israel, and of those whom We guided and chose; when the communications of the Beneficent Allah were recited to them, they fell down making obeisance and weeping.

(13) And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time;

(14) So he smiled, wondering at her word, and said: My Lord! grant me that I should be grateful for Thy favor which Thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I should do good such as Thou art pleased with, and make me enter, by Thy mercy, into Thy servants, the good ones.

(15) And We desired to bestow a favor upon those who were deemed weak in the land, and to make them the Imams, and to make them the heirs,

(16) He said: My Lord! because Thou hast bestowed a favor on me, I shall never be a backer of the guilty.

(17) He was naught but a servant on whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the children of Israel.

(18) And We have enjoined on man doing of good to his parents; with trouble did his mother bear him and with trouble did she bring him forth; and the bearing of him and the weaning of him was thirty months; until when he attains his maturity and reaches forty years, he says: My Lord! grant me that I may give thanks for Thy favor which Thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do good which pleases Thee and do good to me in respect of my offspring; surely I turn to Thee, and surely I am of those who submit.

(19) Surely Allah is the bestower of sustenance, the Lord of Power, the Strong.

(20) And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase,
