(36) And the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had made soft in the life of the world, said: This is only a mortal like you, who eateth of that whereof ye eat and drinketh of that ye drink.

(37) Unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they scorned (them) and they were despotic folk.

(38) (Pharaoh) said unto the chiefs about him: Lo! this is verily a knowing wizard,

(39) (Pharaoh) said: Ye put your faith in him before I give you leave. Lo! he doubtless is your chief who taught you magic! But verily ye shall come to know. Verily I will cut off your hands and your feet alternately, and verily I will crucify you every one.

(40) Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth.
