(42) And pray in the small watches of the morning: (it would be) an additional prayer (or spiritual profit) for thee: soon will thy Lord raise thee to a Station of Praise and Glory!

(43) Set forth to them the similitude of the life of this world: It is like the rain which we send down from the skies: the earth's vegetation absorbs it, but soon it becomes dry stubble, which the winds do scatter: it is (only) Allah who prevails over all things.

(44) Say: "If the ocean were ink (wherewith to write out) the words of my Lord, sooner would the ocean be exhausted than would the words of my Lord, even if we added another ocean like it, for its aid."

(45) But after them there followed a posterity who missed prayers and followed after lusts soon, then, will they face Destruction,-

(46) Say: "Each one (of us) is waiting: wait ye, therefore, and soon shall ye know who it is that is on the straight and even way, and who it is that has received Guidance."

(47) Man is a creature of haste: soon (enough) will I show you My Signs; then ye will not ask Me to hasten them!

(48) "He indeed would well-nigh have misled us from our gods, had it not been that we were constant to them!" - soon will they know, when they see the Penalty, who it is that is most misled in Path!

(49) Say (to the Rejecters): "My Lord is not uneasy because of you if ye call not on Him: But ye have indeed rejected (Him), and soon will come the inevitable (punishment)!"

(50) They have indeed rejected (the Message): so they will know soon (enough) the truth of what they mocked at!
