(22) And he who says to his parents: Fie on you! do you threaten me that I shall be brought forth when generations have already passed away before me? And they both call for Allah's aid: Woe to you! believe, surely the promise of Allah is true. But he says: This is nothing but stories of the ancients.

(23) They said: Have you come to us to turn us away from our gods; then bring us what you threaten us with, if you are of the truthful ones.

(24) And the trumpet shall be blown; that is the day of the threatening.

(25) He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand:

(26) What you are threatened with is most surely true,

(27) And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with.

(28) Therefore woe to those who disbelieve because of their day which they are threatened with.

(29) They will cry out to them: Were we not with you? They shall say: Yea! but you caused yourselves to fall into temptation, and you waited and doubted, and vain desires deceived you till the threatened punishment of Allah came, while the archdeceiver deceived you about Allah.

(30) Therefore leave them alone to go on with the false discourses and to sport until they come face to face with that day of theirs with which they are threatened;
