So when the second promise came (We raised another people) that they may bring you to grief and that they may enter the mosque as they entered it the first time, and that they might destroy whatever they gained ascendancy over with utter destruction.

(23) Or some other creature of those which are too hard (to receive life) in your minds! But they will say: Who will return us? Say: Who created you at first. Still they will shake their heads at you and say: When will it be? Say: Maybe it has drawn nigh.

(24) And they shall be brought before your Lord, standing in ranks: Now certainly you have come to Us as We created you at first. Nay, you thought that We had not appointed to you a time of the fulfillment of the promise.

(25) They said: O Musa! will you cast, or shall we be the first who cast down?

(26) On the day when We will roll up heaven like the rolling up of the scroll for writings, as We originated the first creation, (so) We shall reproduce it; a promise (binding on Us); surely We will bring it about.

(27) Surely we hope that our Lord will forgive us our wrongs because we are the first of the believers.

(28) Say: Travel in the earth and see how He makes the first creation, then Allah creates the latter creation; surely Allah has power over all things.

(29) Say: He will give life to them Who brought them into existence at first, and He is cognizant of all creation

(30) They shall say: Our Lord! whoever prepared it first for us, add Thou to him a double chastisement in the fire.
