(31) O people! a parable is set forth, therefore listen to it: surely those whom you call upon besides Allah cannot create fly, though they should all gather for it, and should the fly snatch away anything from them, they could not take it back from it; weak are the invoker and the invoked.

(32) And He it is Who multiplied you in the earth, and to Him you shall be gathered.

(33) Do you not see that Allah drives along the clouds, then gathers them together, then piles them up, so that you see the rain coming forth from their midst? And He sends down of the clouds that are (like) mountains wherein is hail, afflicting therewith whom He pleases and turning it away from whom He pleases; the flash of His lightning almost takes away the sight.

(34) And on the day when He shall gather them, and whatever they served besides Allah, He shall say: Was it you who led astray these My servants, or did they themselves go astray from the path?

(35) (As for) those who shall be gathered upon their faces to hell, they are in a worse plight and straying farther away from the path.

(36) So the magicians were gathered together at the appointed time on the fixed day,

(37) And it was said to the people: Will you gather together?

(38) And his hosts of the jinn and the men and the birds were gathered to him, and they were formed into groups.

(39) And on the day when We will gather from every nation a party from among those who rejected Our communications, then they shall be formed into groups.

(40) Say: Our Lord will gather us together, then will He judge between us with the truth; and He is the greatest Judge, the All-knowing.
