(34) Nor are the two bodies of flowing water alike,- the one palatable, sweet, and pleasant to drink, and the other, salt and bitter. Yet from each (kind of water) do ye eat flesh fresh and tender, and ye extract ornaments to wear; and thou seest the ships therein that plough the waves, that ye may seek (thus) of the Bounty of Allah that ye may be grateful.

(35) "A hospitable gift from one Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful!"

(36) How many-so-ever be the angels in the heavens, their intercession will avail nothing except after Allah has given leave for whom He pleases and that he is acceptable to Him.

(37) And tell them that the water is to be divided between them: Each one's right to drink being brought forward (by suitable turns).

(38) When the Event inevitable cometh to pass,

(39) Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks?

(40) O ye who believe! When ye are told to make room in the assemblies, (spread out and) make room: (ample) room will Allah provide for you. And when ye are told to rise up, rise up Allah will rise up, to (suitable) ranks (and degrees), those of you who believe and who have been granted (mystic) Knowledge. And Allah is well-acquainted with all ye do.
