(231) But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism), for them will be the Fire of Hell. Neither will it have a complete killing effect on them so that they die, nor shall its torment be lightened for them. Thus do We requite every disbeliever!

(232) They (people) said: "For us, we see an evil omen from you: if you cease not, we will surely stone you, and a painful torment will touch you from us."

(233) And when it is said to them: "Fear of that which is before you (worldly torments), and that which is behind you (torments in the Hereafter), in order that you may receive Mercy (i.e. if you believe in Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism, and avoid polytheism, and obey Allah with righteous deeds)."

(234) Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment.

(235) "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment).

(236) Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment.

(237) Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment;

(238) Do they seek to hasten on Our torment?

(239) And watch and they shall see (the torment)!

(240) "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay, but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Qur'an)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) torment!
