(471) So when they have reached their prescribed time, then retain them with kindness or separate them with kindness, and call to witness two men of justice from among you, and give upright testimony for Allah. With that is admonished he who believes in Allah and the latter day; and whoever is careful of (his duty to) Allah, He will make for him an outlet,

(472) If you both turn to Allah, then indeed your hearts are already inclined (to this); and if you back up each other against him, then surely Allah it is Who is his Guardian, and Jibreel and -the believers that do good, and the angels after that are the aiders.

(473) Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner?

(474) Are you secure of those in the heaven that He should not make the earth to swallow you up? Then lo! it shall be in a state of commotion.

(475) Or are you secure of those in the heaven that He should not send down upon you a punishment? Then shall you know how was My warning.

(476) What! is he who goes prone upon his face better guided or he who walks upright upon a straight path?

(477) Saying: No poor man shall enter it today upon you.

(478) On the day when there shall be a severe affliction, and they shall be called upon to make obeisance, but they shall not be able,

(479) Their looks cast down, abasement shall overtake them; and they were called upon to make obeisance indeed while yet they were safe.

(480) Were it not that favor from his Lord had overtaken him, he would certainly have been cast down upon the naked Found while he was blamed.
