(342) So that it tasted the ill-effects of its conduct, and the consequence of its conduct was loss.

(344) And Mary, daughter of 'Imran, whose body was chaste, therefor We breathed therein something of Our Spirit. And she put faith in the words of her Lord and His scriptures, and was of the obedient.

(345) And in the morning it was as if plucked.

(346) Such was the punishment. And verily the punishment of the Hereafter is greater if they did but know.

(347) Had it not been that favour from his Lord had reached him he surely had been cast into the wilderness while he was reprobate.

(348) Lo! man was created anxious,

(349) And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving.

(350) was he not a drop of fluid which gushed forth?
