(11) Never did Allah take to Himself a son, and never was there with him any (other) god-- in that case would each god have certainly taken away what he created, and some of them would certainly have overpowered others; glory be to Allah above what they describe!

(12) Say: Flight shall not do you any good if you fly from death or slaughter, and in that case you will not be allowed to enjoy yourselves but a little.

(13) O you who believe! when you marry the believing women, then divorce them before you touch them, you have in their case no term which you should reckon; so make some provision for them and send them forth a goodly sending forth.

(14) In that case I shall most surely be in clear error:

(15) Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before,

(16) And most certainly We will try you until We have known those among you who exert themselves hard, and the patient, and made your case manifest.

(17) O you who believe! avoid most of suspicion, for surely suspicion in some cases is a sin, and do not spy nor let some of you backbite others. Does one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? But you abhor it; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, surely Allah is Oft-returning (to mercy), Merciful.

(18) So they said: What! a single mortal from among us! Shall we follow him? Most surely we shall in that case be in sure error and distress:

(19) Except in the case of their wives or those whom their right hands possess-- for these surely are not to be blamed,
